Moving Week

Four years ago, I moved into my first dorm room at Virginia Tech. I lived in Johnson Hall, one of VT's all-female buildings, in room 304, if I remember correctly. My roommate and I met through VT's Class of 2014 Facebook group and organized to live together our first year as Hokies.

Later this week, I will leave Pennsylvania for one more year of school. I am excited to move to Burlington and start my master's program at Elon. My living arrangements there will be quite different from what I've had the last four years. I won't be in a dorm, and I won't have a roommate. That's right, I'm living by myself for the year. I will miss the company, but my program is only one year long, and I didn't want to sign a lease with a roommate or two for that short of time. And plus, with all the work and projects I'll have, living alone will give me the space I need to get everything done, and maybe keep my sanity intact. It will be different, but I'm ready for it.

And now...time to pack.
