Five on Friday: Easter Weekend!

Happy (Good) Friday! Y'all know what this means...I don't even have to say it!

1. My collection of graduation regalia is complete! I decorated my cap this week while I was procrastinating on an assignment. I think it turned out nicely! Think my parents will be able to spot me in the crowd?

2. It's Easter weekend! Y'all know what that means...dyeing eggs and eating chocolate bunnies. Dyeing eggs is one of my all-time favorite holiday past-times and I can't wait to share that with Kevin.

3. Nerd alert: I love my majors because the classes are so interesting and relevant, and I always learn something new each day. My capstone class for my communication degree is called "Social Media Theories & Practice." Right now, I am writing a research paper on the benefits of using social media in the classroom, and it's so interesting. I'm so glad I chose majors that I love and love feeling nerdy about them.

4. A few weeks ago at Target, I spotted a $1-bin full of "Grow Your Own" flowers. I absolutely love sunflowers, and I found a "grow your own sunflower" box. For just a dollar, I couldn't pass it up. I am proud to say my little sunflower is sprouting! I hope I can keep it up and get myself a little blossom before too long.

5. I love Easter for many reasons, but one of those reasons is because I get to bake and share some of my favorite foods with friends and family. This weekend, I am making two of my absolute favorites to share with Kevin's parents when they visit: Sausage Balls and Strawberry Yum-Yum. My mom taught me how to make sausage balls when I was a kid, and they're a "must" on our road trips. My mom's grandma (my great-grandma) made yum-yum when my mom was growing up, and that recipe remains a favorite. Tomorrow is baking day and I am so excited. Recipes to come, perhaps. :)

This will be me while I'm baking tomorrow.

Happy Good Friday & have a blessed weekend with your loved ones!

It's pretty simple. I will share the recipe later this weekend! :)
