Five on Friday!

Happy Friday! Y'all know the drill...

Comm Connections -- Each year, VT PRSSA hosts a networking luncheon called Comm Connections. There's a catered lunch and we bring in some fantastic speakers from the PR field to share their experiences with us. I attended the event my freshman year, but have fallen sick the night before the last two years. I'm healthy right now (knocks on wood), so I'm hoping it holds out to Saturday.

I'm also excited for Saturday because...

I get to dress up! My boyfriend has a banquet for marching band and I get to be his date! I don't get to dress up often, so when I do, it's super exciting. Last time I dolled up? Ring dance last year. It's been too long. I'm letting my best friend Jordan do my hair and makeup...maybe she knows how to get my hair to curl and stay curled?

Last time J & I went out - Summer 2013!
(and yes, that's a snapchat we sent...probably to Kevin)

We're gonna get all dressed up this weekend!

Cavalier Youth -- I'm always open to discovering new music. As many of y'all know, my favorite band in the world is Yellowcard. I follow all the members on Twitter, and recently Sean Mackin tweeted about a new album from the band You Me At Six called Cavalier Youth. I'd heard of YMAS before, but had never listened to their music.  And if Sean was endorsing them, then I knew it had to be worth a listen.  Oh my goodness, the album is fantastic!  The music is energetic and and full of awesome riffs that will definitely be stuck in my head for days.  Favorite tracks: "Carpe Diem" and "Lived a Lie."

Starbucks Rewards -- I've been a loyal Starbucks customer for about six years, maybe longer, and I can't believe it took me this long to join the rewards program. Having it on an iPhone app is super convenient. You just make an account on the Starbucks website, and then you register gift cards that sync to your phone app. A QR code appears on the app when you pay, and you scan that, just like a regular bar code. It's so easy...almost dangerously easy. And who would complain about getting rewards for purchasing their favorite drinks? Stars for skinny caffe mochas...don't have to ask me twice!

Jamba Juice -- I've probably mentioned how awesome Tech's food is. Last year we got a new super-fancy dining hall called Turner Place, which has basically everything you ever want in a dining hall (except burgers). My favorite place, at least recently, has been Jamba Juice.  The smoothies are fantastic, and there are so many options.  They also have fresh-squeezed juice, "toppers" (blended yogurt-smoothie type bottom with granola and fruit on top) and steel-cut oatmeal.  I'm a huge fan of the banana-brown sugar oatmeal and the Banana Berry smoothie.  Perfect lunch after class when I go to work!

I just realized I haven't done a playlist post in a while. Next week, I'm fixing that. Ideas/thoughts for a genre/theme? Share below!
