This Big Project at School - Website is DONE!

I spent the first week of the month in Cotui, Dominican Republic, as part of my program's winter term "fly-in" project. I traveled with twelve other students from my program, and four faculty/staff members. 
My team--seven students and two faculty/staff--worked with a cooperative called Creaciones Ecologicas La Colonia (CREELA), which is a group of 25 women who crochet these amazing handbags and totes out of recycled plastic shopping bags. They sell these bags as a main source of income. Our task, while there, was to collect photos and videos, speak with and interview the women and those involved, and learn as much as we could about Cotui and Dominican culture, all in one week. 
The bigger task, though, was to develop a website for this organization that would reach an audience beyond Cotui and the Dominican Republic, to help the women sell more bags. We returned from Cotui on January 10, and we pretty much hit the ground running as soon as we were back at school.
After two weeks of hard work (and lots of time in Powell), I am proud to say that our website is OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED and we are live!

My team put so much time and effort into this project, and we are all so happy with the results. Everyone did an awesome job and we all worked together really well to make this website possible. It wasn't easy, by any stretch, but overall, the entire project--travels and all--was an incredible experience, and I learned so much from it.
