10 Songs That Will Never Get Old

Before I begin, I have to give props to Neely for inspiring this post. I read her 10 Songs I Will Never Tire Of post and thought about my own 10 songs. What 10 songs could I listen to forever and ever, and never get tired of them?
top 10 songs that will never get old
Well, that's much harder to determine than you'd think. I made one master list and made several rounds of cuts. Here are the 10 songs that made the cut.

  1. More than a Feeling // Boston -- I thank my dad for my interests in classic rock. I've loved Boston, and specifically this song, since the first time I ever heard it. Boston is just too good, and this anthem is perfect.

  2. American Pie // Don McLean (not on Spotify) -- Pretty sure I know all the words to this one. Mom and I like this one a lot.

  3. Dead on Arrival // Fall Out Boy -- Take This to Your Grave is by far FOB's best album (although I'd hear you out for From Under the Cork Tree). I love this song from it. "The songs you grow to like never stick at first"...so true, in so many ways!

  4. Friends in Low Places // Garth Brooks (not on Spotify) -- Need I say more? Also, that mysterious third verse is fantastic.

  5. The Load Out/Stay // Jackson Browne -- Another song I've loved since the first time I ever heard it. Mom is a big Jackson Browne fan, so this one came from her. That piano, though.

  6. One Way Ticket (Because I Can) // LeAnn Rimes -- I was 5 years old when I first heard this song (and when LeAnn Rimes came on the country scene). This was the first country song I ever loved, and I sang it all the time.

  7. Daydream Believer // The Monkees -- Cheer up Sleepy Jeeeeeaaaaannn oh what can it mean... that I love this song, perhaps? Mom started me on The Monkees when I was a toddler; we listened to their CD in the car all the time.

  8. Spirit of the Radio // Rush -- This is a great song for long drives on sunny days. My sunroof goes back and this song comes on, and I'm immediately happier.

  9. How Do You Like Me Now // Toby Keith -- Always has been, and always will be one of my favorite "in your face" songs. Not gonna lie, sometimes I sing it to myself and replace "livin' in your radio" with "livin' on your bookshelf."

  10. With You Around // Yellowcard -- A top-10 songs list without a Yellowcard song? Naaahhh. While choosing a song for it was a bit difficult, I went with this over Ocean Avenue because this song means more to me personally. I mean, I cried when they played this when I saw them in concert two years ago.
