Hello, Summer!

Nice to see you again!  I finished my sophomore year last Wednesday with my British Literature final.  I don't have to take literature again until my senior year when I'll take a 4000-level Shakespeare course.  And I love Shakespeare, so I'm actually looking forward to it!

I'm happy to say I finished with a 3.82 GPA, which makes my cumulative GPA around a 3.75.  I would love to keep my GPA around that...graduating Summa Cum Laude (or even Magna Cum Laude) would be pretty awesome!

I also do not have to live in a dorm ever again.  For my first two years, I lived in a dorm.  It's required for freshmen to reside on campus, but it's optional after the first year.  I decided to stay on for a second year, just to give myself more time to meet people I would feel comfortable living with in an apartment.

Mission accomplished: I will be living in a really nice apartment with my best friend Laura next year!  We already have several friends in the complex, and we spent most weekends over there already, so it's not like it was a difficult decision.  We are already planning dinner parties and room decorations.  So excited!

Last summer, I took an online class to catch up on my English courses.  I decided not to take any courses this summer so I could focus all of my time on my awesome internship!  I will be a Public Relations intern for the United States Tennis Association Middle States office.  I will be doing pretty much anything from putting together media packages, to writing articles, to working events.  My first day is May 30th, and I cannot wait to get started.  It's going to be a fantastic summer with the USTA!

Until then...I've spent the past few days down in North Carolina visiting family with my mom.  I was home in PA for two whole days after I finished at VT; those two days were spent doing laundry, unpacking and repacking so we could fly down to Charlotte on Sunday.  We're flying back to Philly tomorrow, and I'll spend the next couple of weeks making final plans for my internship, and probably searching for a waitressing job on the weekends so I can make some money for my apartment next year.  Here's to hoping!

Stay tuned...I'll try to post about my internship as it goes along.

Happy Summer, readers!  Enjoy it while it lasts!
