Motivation Monday: Have Faith

Happy Monday, y'all. How was your weekend? Mine was slow and relaxing. It was nice to stay in, get some schoolwork done, and blow through a season or three of Friends on Netflix. And of course, drinking lots of tea.

Last week and this weekend, I was thinking a lot about the future. What kind of job will I have? Where will I be? It's a side effect of the job search, I'm pretty sure. The words "job search" are basically synonymous with "nerve-wracking uncertainty." When there is so much up in the air and out of my control, it's hard to remember that everything will work out in the end.

My favorite movie of all time is The Sound of Music. Julie Andrews' character, Maria, faces a lot of uncertainty, but she's resilient and stays true to her faith. She has confidence in confidence alone... she says so herself! Right before she sets off to the von Trapp's family, she reminds herself that there will always be new opportunities.

I've been trying to remind myself of this lately, especially the more I search for jobs. I'm not that far into it, but I know the hardest part is yet to come. But if I remember this wisdom from Julie Andrews, maybe that will help keep me positive, optimistic and resilient. I will have faith that everything will be okay!

How do you stay optimistic? Are there any quotes from movies that you remember during tough situations?
