Five on Friday!

Happy Friday, y'all! Tomorrow is the official first day of summer. I hope the nice weather holds up and I can get outside and enjoy it. Also, Fall Out Boy performed on The Today Show this morning! My 14-year-old self fangirled a little lot.

1. New Car! I am now a proud owner of a white Mazda CX-5! We expedited this car-shopping process: last Sunday, we went out and looked at a few cars (Dad likes going on Sundays because the dealerships aren't open, so no one comes out and tries to sell you a car when all you want to do is look around!), and by 8:00pm Monday, I had a Mazda. I miss my Chevy, but it had seen its better days and it was time to say goodbye. The CX-5 drives so well. It's smooth and quiet, and it's so easy to turn and park. And I can't complain about the mileage...26 city, 30 highway is pretty nice.

2. David Sedaris Tickets -- If you remember, I am a huge fan of David Sedaris. I blew through several of his books last summer and am working through the rest now. My friend showed me that he's coming to VT in October for "An Evening with David Sedaris" at the new Center for the Arts. I got super excited and thought that would be a great chance to come back to visit friends and see my favorite writer. Alas, that's a Wednesday, and I didn't think I could swing it. But I looked up his tour dates and saw that he's coming to Greensboro, NC, on October 24, which is a Friday. Perfect timing! Happy (super early) birthday to me!

3. 2048 Victory -- I finally beat 2048! I know, I'm behind in the times, but I can now rest assured that I have achieved victory. Next up, 4096?

Pics or it didn't happen, right?

4. Cheerwine Punch -- One of my favorite beverages all year round, but especially in the summer! It's a Southern specialty, since Cheerwine isn't available above the Mason-Dixon Line. We always stock up when we're in North Carolina or Virginia. I made some last weekend when Kevin was here, and I'm surprised we didn't drink it all at once!

Recipe:
1 part Cheerwine
1 part ginger ale
1 part pineapple juice

Mix all together and serve over ice. For an extra touch, add sherbet.

5. I need a new craft project! I finished Kevin's cooler...now what should I paint/craft? Share your ideas in the comments below! Maybe something for my new apartment at Elon?

Happy Friday & Happy Summer!
